Joey Kirby

Mr. Kirby has been teaching technical courses for over eight years. He taught three years before coming to the Blount County Career Technical Center. He is certified to teach Electrical, Plumbing, Solar Photovoltaics, and Industrial Maintenance. He has also been in the Commercial/Residential Electrical and Plumbing trade for 42 years. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Teresa Chamblee Kirby, for 43 years. He has two daughters, Christy Kirby Colburn and Jeanie Kirby Appelt. He has 12 grandchildren. Mr. Kirby enjoys fishing, golfing, and watching Alabama football (ROLLLLL Tide!) His favorite thing about teaching is watching the expression on his students' faces the first time they see an electrical circuit that they have built.
